Woodcroft Community Playschool is a fully licensed, non-profit, parent operated preschool program offered from September to May, for children 3-4 years of age.  Classes are held in the Woodcroft Community League building in a spacious room on the second floor.

We employ experienced teachers who strive to provide a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment where children can have fun “learning through play”.

Each child is seen as an unique individual with their own learning style. Knowledge acquired through meaningful play activities gives the child a means to grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically.  By providing clear expectations in a positive and encouraging environment, children have the opportunity to express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas, thereby developing confidence, a positive self-image, spontaneity, and a sense of independence.

Our theme based curriculum offers a wide range of opportunities for children to explore and experience their environment through both structured and unstructured activities including literature, arts and crafts, music, science and math activities, imaginative and dramatic play, baking, gym activities, in class visitors and field trips.

Parents play a vital part in the operation of our program and have the opportunity to be intimately involved in their child’s first school years by helping out in the classroom.  Everyday there is something to discover, wonder at, observe, and create!  By fulfilling volunteer positions parents help our Playschool operate to its fullest potential, making it a unique place to grow and experience “joy in learning!”
